      <description>Not completely sure whether I understand your question. If you're wondering whether you can backup your unix/linux filesystems on a tape-drive that's in a windows machine, that would depend on the backup tool used.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Network based backup tools (veritas netbackup, legato, ..) can do this without a problem: each machine to be backed up runs a client which connects to your backup server over the network.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Should your question be a different one, forgive me, and ignore my message.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Cheers,&lt;BR /&gt;Wout</description>

      <description>Hi wouter,&lt;BR /&gt;         Actually what i am asking is..assume &lt;BR /&gt;u have one windows server in that u configured ur tape drive with veritas backup utility for taking backup of client files.Now the new situation came like below...&lt;BR /&gt;        U want to install the verias utility on linux m/c and accessing the tapedrive which is already preconfigured on windows m/c.Then u have to take backup of clients files in the network thru the linux m/c to tape...&lt;BR /&gt;      Now u got it...&lt;BR /&gt;Regds,&lt;BR /&gt;Palani.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
