      <description>Hello, &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The customer would like to know whether a number of xinetd process run or not.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;[ENVIRONMENT] &lt;BR /&gt;RHEL ES4 update1 &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;[SITUATION] &lt;BR /&gt;He has watched the process by using "ps -ef" command.&lt;BR /&gt;So 2 xinetd process appeared for a just moment.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;[QUESTION ] &lt;BR /&gt;- Is there possibility to run a number of xinetd process ? &lt;BR /&gt;  If yes, could you tell me the mechanism ? &lt;BR /&gt;- Is there possibility to run a number of process regarding following process ? &lt;BR /&gt;  crond&lt;BR /&gt; syslogd&lt;BR /&gt; klogd&lt;BR /&gt; sshd&lt;BR /&gt; sendmail&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thank you for support and advice.&lt;BR /&gt;Best Regards.&lt;BR /&gt;/Minoru.Asano</description>

      <description>Shalom,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;xinetd is designed for a one run at time scenario. It controls behavior of many services and is quite flexible and configurable.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;crond can only be run once otherwise cron jobs might lick twice.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;syslod can only run once otherwise the log fils may become corrupt.&lt;BR /&gt;klogd, don't know.&lt;BR /&gt;sshd has one process that creates child processes for each ssh connection.&lt;BR /&gt;Sendmail works in a similar way. One process listens and each connection gets its own dedicated process.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>

      <description>2 xinetd processes eh? perhaps he saw 2 entries but one of them was his own 'grep'?</description>
