Shalom KisShore,

There is probably code in /etc/profile or /root/.bash_profile that is rebooting the system.

I suggest you boot the system into single user mode and scan the above files for reboot or shutdown commands.

Get rid of them and log on again.

SEP

Hi all

Product is hp HP Workstation xw8000 when entering user name and password system is automatically restarted. There is two number of SCSI hard drives which is 36.2 gb which we are disconnected and reconnected also, but still problem is persists in system.
I have tested with independent hard drives also but there is no implementation, I have formatted and reloaded with Hp Linux (Red Hat 7 ) recovery cd after completion of number of times there is no positive result in system.I couldn’t able to find the problem in the system though I have tested with RAM’s also same RAM’s are working fine in another cpu. Please kindly help me in this case.

Advance In Thanks

Warm Regards
KisShore
You should also check the user shell in /etc/passwd. Maybe you have shutdown, reboot, init as the shell.
