Dual boot is easy.

I would install Linux first and leave a large partition unused for the second operating system.

Then install the second operating system and duplicate a line in the grub.conf file, making the changes needed to boot the secondary partition.

I've also done it the other way around, installing windows into a 15 GB partition or reducing a full disk windows partition and then installing Linux over it. Grub automatically picks up and preserves the windows parition but lists the OS as other.

SEP

Just curious - looking at them for some lab machines, and might like to dual boot a few of them for testing purposes.

Not on the official support matrix, but has anyone attempted to install/run linux on these new systems?

Thanks

Is that an Intel or PA-RISC box?

Dual boot would require a second disk on hp-9000 and itanium servers.

SEP

It's just a consumer/business Athlon 64 workstation. It has the new ATI RADEON® XPRESS 200 Chipset, which I haven't seen much mention of. Still searching, but thought I'd toss the question out here, too.

http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF05a/12454-64287-89301-321860-f49-457124.html

Yes, I have installed Linux and XP pro on this system. When i'm in Linux I cannot see my C: drive. I'm assuming it's because the drive is SATA. I installed SUSE 9.0. Does anyone have a work around for this? I know if I install SUSE 9.3 it supports SATA. I'm hoping to find a simple solution.

I suggest you to take some modern distro, like Fedora Core 5 - it should work.
From another side, RHEL4 (or CentOS 4) will provide you with 7 years support, so may be make sense to start with CentOS.
