You need to configure the ouput to use the VGA monitor.
Hi,

When i tried to install Linux 4.0 AS 64-bit on HP Rx2600, I was not seeing anything on the VGA monitor. Through console I was able to create linux partitions, but it was asking for /boot/efi partion of file system FAT of size 50. But there was no FAT type file system displayed to choose.

Please help me how to proceed?

Thanks,
hem

You've got a certified for Itanium version of the OS? 64 bit is not precise enough.

Anyway, the standard install should create the filesystems it needs to start. Seems odd that a FAT filesystem is needed at all.

Please provide a little more detail.

SEP

Hi,

that URL solved my disply problem in VGA but I was not able to install SuSE Linux 8 and 9 IA 64-bit on these machines. When I booted with the CD 1 it was uncompressing the image, doing some santiy work and asking me to "Please insert CD number 1 to install" again. I tried both maunal and auto...but no luck. I have the similar problem with RH 2.1 64-bit. But supraisingly installation of RH 4.0 64-bit went through on this RX 2600.

Do not know how to procedd from here. Am i doing something wrong here?

Please help me.

Thanks,
hem

I had similar problems with Red Hat, the problem is that the CD installation media or CD reader are having problems.

I solved the problem by replacing the CD reader, you can do a network installation.
