      <title>knoppix wont find modem</title>

      <description>i've been screwing around with knoppix and i cant get my modem to dial, i went to my isp and got instructions to set up a connection and everything but I cant get it to connect, it just hangs at "initializing modem" Do i need drivers? a device file? is my modem not linux compatible? I really dont know,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;-Eric</description>

      <description>If its a winmodem, linmodems.org is pretty much the only solution that will work.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Knoppix has fairly good hardware support, so your best bet is to get drivers for linux from the modem manufacturer.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>
