      <description>hi&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I'm looking for a free VIRUS SCANNER for linux,&lt;BR /&gt;to scan all linux files and maybe use it in combination with a proxy server. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have squid proxy server:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Squid Cache: Version 2.5.STABLE4&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;installed on SUSE 8.2 &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;kind regards&lt;BR /&gt;chris</description>

      <description>There's actually a few available now.  The one I use is 'clam' ( &lt;A href="http://www.clamav.net/" target="_blank"&gt;http://www.clamav.net/&lt;/A&gt; ).  It has many plugins, including sendmail milters, samba AV libs, and can be reasonably easily put into a sequid cache path.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;There's documentation and helper applications listed onthe website.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;There RPM's available, including one for their pattern auto-updater (called 'freshclam').</description>

      <description>Chris,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Note that linux system itself doesn't need to be scanned. What you need to scan are samba shares, mails, and such files Windows can access.
