    <description>Usually usb devices recognized as /dev/sda*&lt;BR /&gt;for example /dev/sda1 &lt;BR /&gt;as for entry in /etc/fstab&lt;BR /&gt;I think you should add "noauto" to mount options.&lt;BR /&gt;To watch DVD fims you must have the player installed.       <title>USB DVD Reader / Writter</title>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;  I have USB DVD Reader / Writter installed in my PC I have Linux 9 loaded, but when i am connecting the DVD ROM while i am starting the PC it is getting hunged at the checking /etc/fstab ..&lt;BR /&gt; But if i am switching ON  the DVD ROM once the OS is UP then it is showing me in Devices, but at the same time if i try to put the entry in /etc/fstab i am unable to do the PC is getting hunged. Please let me knwo the parameter and the device name for USB DVD writter..       <description>I have DVD/CD on an usb and I use linux 9.0, to watch movies RH 9.0 come's with xine (gxine same as xine just other skin and presentation)&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;to run this with my video card I have to use &lt;BR /&gt;xine -V Xshm &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;you should have a look in your dmesg to see how this CD/DVD is seen by system this should apear in your modules, lsmod should reveale this.&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;The usb CD/DVD should in fact be seen as a scsi so the command cdrecorde -scanbus should show the CD/DVD&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;attach the result of dmesg, lsmod, cdrecord,fstab here with a description of your hardware, if you still need help, perhaps we will be able to futher help you.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;J-P&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
