You've got the Linux media?

Just create a container on the RAID array, and install RH from there.

You should only need the 'cciss' driver at worst, available from the drivers/support website.

Prior to installation of Linux, proliant servers require disk preparation.

There is a downloadable cd(which also ships with the server).

You boot off the cd, prepare the disk and boot again with Linux in the cd-rom. Once the disk containers are prepared in whatever raid level you like you are ready to install Linux.

SEP

I am not sure if I am am reading your question correctly.

Do you think that Red Hat 3 is on the smart start cd? It is not on the smart start CD. Red Hat 3 is only on CDs from Red Hat. It can be purchased from HP or from Red Hat.

You need to use a utility called rawrite to create the floppy disk.
You then boot the Redhat CD, and it will then prompt you for additional drivers when it cannot find any disks.
