topic Format Commands To Label Printer in Operating System - Linux

I am able to print with the command lp -dMonTest formatfile testfile, however I need to be able to send the formatfile to the Monarch label printer to change the printer setting format. I have looked into trying to put the formatfile via /etc/printcap, but that does not work. Is there a way I can just print via lp -dMonTest testfile, where it will automatically pick up the formatfile?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the formatfile example (named download) that needs passed to the printer with each print job.

Thanks in advance,

Dan
