Hello,

The Linux OmniBack client is included in the HP-UX distribution. You can install it either remotely (via HP-UX cell manager), or locally. In the later case, you can find a manual procedure in the PDF included in the CD-ROM (Install UX).

Please note one or two things for the remote install :

-> The remote execution/shell must be enabled on your Linux box. To do so, edit /etc/inetd.conf or /etc/xinetd.conf, then find the rexec service. After that, you will have to re-start the inetd (or xinetd) daemon.

-> The PAM authentication must be disabled (just remove or rename the /etc/pam.d/rexec file).

After remote install, you can go back to the previous settings (with all securities enabled).

hi,
thanx for your answer I 've found the omniback
client for LX. but, one server run (suse 7.0), the other system (suse email serverII 7.0.0-1) can 't run!!
my error log from the server .....

Hello,

There were some issues with the "gethostbyname()" function in some versions of glibc, that caused problems with some linux versions.

First of all, check the glibc version on the two systems :

rpm -q glibc

If there is any difference, try to replace the version having the problem.

If you have the same glibc version, I have no more idea. May be you'll have to change your Linux version.

the problem is away, when I install
the Packet (a) nssv1.rmp (suse7.0)!!!

then run omniback !!
