Installing Gentoo Linux

I am trying to install Gentoo Linux on a B132L workstation, but when it comes time to create the partitions on the hard drive, fdisk and cfdisk cannot find or open the drive even though the drive in question is identified within PALO. Any ideas on what I can do to get around this? Thanks.

delete all your partitions before installing Gentoo

Search the gentoo site for the root and boot disk for your hardware.

Thanks for your reply. At the risk of sounding like an idiot, how would I go about deleting the existing partitions on the hard disk prior to installing Gentoo? Thanks.

Hi there.
You should be able to do this within the install process. AFAIK there will be a chance to change your existing partitions to new ones. Be careful.
If you go for a dual system,
make sure both operating systems can read the data areas.
