compaq ap400 hangs on boot

installed 2 different linux versions , fedora core 1 and mandrake 10.1 both get so far into the boot process then nothing but a blank screen have tried so far only disable enable ACPI setting nothing else any ideas?

Hi Scorr,

Did you complete the hole installation with no problems and you cannot boot after that or you cannot install linux at all ?

If you have the installation completed, it seems that your xfree configurations isn't ok.
Did you tried to start in text mode (init 3) ?
