    <description>Thanks for the reply.&lt;BR /&gt;I reinstalled Linux 7.3 Choosing the server option rather than custom install and it got the PAM packaged installed automatically.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>I am trying run AMS (alphaserver management station) software on Redhat Linux 7.3 &lt;BR /&gt;AMS needs Sysman authentication server. &lt;BR /&gt;When I try to start smauth (/etc/init.d smauth start) I get the following error.&lt;BR /&gt;"/bin/sh: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libpam.so: Cannot open shared object file: so such file or directory. &lt;BR /&gt;sysman authentication server  (smauthd) failed to start"&lt;BR /&gt;I am a novice  in Linux. &lt;BR /&gt;I would greatly appreciate your help in fixing this problem.</description>

      <description>you must install  "pam" package.&lt;BR /&gt;if you don't have install cd you can download from internet</description>

      <description>hi &lt;BR /&gt;this is pam for redhat 7.3&lt;BR /&gt;you may install it:&lt;BR /&gt;rpm -ivh pam-0.75-46.7.3.i386.rpm&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;maybe you will need newer version</description>
