hi Hisham,

what kind of error and what distro, could you specify it ? drivers and modules are usually on cd1 so if it is on cd2, it will not be damaged ? Check it first, if it is ok, than try ignore the error and continue.
(I remeber on SuSE 9.0 via FTP was error something like "I can't find package vipe-xxxx and after ignoring it was ok)

br Jan

You should do an md5sum on your CDs, especially if they are copies and compare those to the md5sums on RedHats web site. I've had these problems before. Also for CD images, I've found cdrdao to be more reliable than "dd" for grabbing ISO images.

I had a similar problem when installing SuSE 9.0. In my case the media would intermittently work, the make re-read attempts till timeout and give me a similar error.

I just kept banging on it until I finally got a good install. Cleaning the media surface helped in my case.
