I am having the exact same problem. It's funny that this is not actually supported since the brand new server we just bought has RedHat ES 3 as one of the pre-installed options. I wonder how they manage to get it on there. I have not had any luck looking at the LSI site either, though at least I know what driver to look for now, the MegaRAID IDEAL driver. Sadly I canntop find it for ES 3.

Hi, I have 4 Compaq Proliant ML330 servers that need to be installed with Redhat ES 3.0.

Unfortunately for me, HP doesn't support ES 3.0 with their LSI CSB6 controller. And BIOS does not allow for an alternative controller.

Which pretty much means i'm stuck with the embedded controller and no drivers. Has anyone found a driver or workaround for the LSI CSB 6 ATA Raid controller under ES 3.0?

--

Bryan Dees
bdees@rim.com

Stuck between something hard and something even harder..

There may be a driver on LSI's site. HP doesn't own LSI

http://www.lsilogic.com/

I don't think HP has made it to the point where you can use ES 3.0 on their hardware.

SEP

I have found suprisingly slow support for Red Hats 3.x series of Linux. I have no idea why.

I've had I/O kernel panics with ES 3.0 that did not happen with Fedora Core.

I am mystified and waiting also for an explanation.

SEP
