Yes.

Fedora Core works with all 32 Bit Intel Processors.

It will fail to install if the proc is too slow.

SEP

Fedora has current builds for AMD64 series, but I'm not 100% sure whether they have an Itanium build also.

RH's enterprise products most definatly do have Itanium installs available.

Itanium isn't a supported architecture for Fedora Core 2 (yet). However there are development packages available. Note that Fedora and RedHat distributions are closely related but not identical. RedHat Enterprise (version 3.0) supports Itanium.

Look in (your.fedora.mirror)/development/ia64 for a root Fedora Itanium distribution. I haven't seen any installation ISOs; you may have to build them yourself (see: anaconda) or use an alternate installation method.

The RedHat Enterprise 3.0 installation documentation is freely available at http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/enterprise/RHEL-3-Manual/x8664-multi-install-guide/
and may provide some insight in installing the Fedora development packages.
