There is also a utility cd that can be shipped or downloaded for that box. You boot off of it, but it allows you to run utilities on all hardware.

Of course, you're down but the toolset exists. Its burried in the online docs for the server.

SEP

Hi all,

Not sure if I must post this in this forum or Server/NetServer one... so I'll post the two :)

I have a Netserver LH 6000 running RedHat 7.2 and I'm looking for management utilities.

My server recently light up a yellow led on the front panel, showing strange characters on the display. I need to know what's the problem before it crashes. Isn't there a management tool for Linux ?

Regards,

Fred

Hi Fred,

You can try to install TopTools for Linux. However, if you have a remote management card, it is much more easier to try to connect to this card using your favorite java-enabled browser. Then you will have access to the hardware logs.

Last thing : try to find the online documentation of LH6000 on HP web. You may have the explanation of the yellow led.

Good luck,

Kodjo
A good experience for those who may be interrested :

This server is (most of the time) a samba server. Shares are on LVM/XFS. The crash didn't cause any problem to XFS which has mounted the FS without any problem, whereas the standard Ext2 / needed a manual fsck... I think I will take time to migrate root dir one day...

Fred
