topic hpasm and SuSE? in Operating System - Linux

Two questions:

1. Will hpasm work on Compaq Deskpro EN (Pentium III, 733, i820 I think)? Everything I'm finding says it is for proliants. If not, what will work on the Deskpro that will let me monitor fan speeds and temperatures?

2. If it will work, is there a version that will work with SuSE 9? So far I haven't been able to find anything except RPMs for SuSE 7 Enterprise. I'm just looking for SuSE 9 professional.

Thanks,
Greg

Through numerous posts on this topic I've reached conclusions.

If hpasm is not certified on the hardware and specific distribution of Linux, it won't work.

I'm not optimistic with the combination you present.

SEP

'hpasm' is the daemon that talks to the Advanced Systems Management Controller--a piece of hardware only available on the motherboard of a ProLiant.
