All,
I am running rh9 with mozilla and gmplayer. I have no problem with most site when it requires mediaplayer, however I have problem with this url http://launch.yahoo.com/, It booms out on me when I try to listen on one of the station from their lauchcast service. It booms out, because my browser register as netscape. Is there a way to change my browsers ID to IE? Thanks.

I don't think Mozilla does this any more. However, maybe you could try Konqueror which has a very handy button where you can select exactly which browser Konqueror announces itself as.

yeah, But I don't think konqueror has something similar to mozillar like mozplugger where it lauches the gmplayer for you automatically; It's responsible for lauching program with mozilla. Well any way let me see if I can get it to work under konqueror, hate to switch browser when you have gotten used to it.

Yes, you can still change mozilla version, it's a hidden function available through prefs.js file.
Check here for detailled path :
http://www.geocities.com/pratiksolanki/

hth

J

For reasons of dominence and competitiveness, IE was never released for Linux.

You'll have to follow the advice above and correct the mozilla configuration.

SEP

Actually, Konqueror can start anything you like when ever you like and configuring it is much more obvious that with Mozilla. i.e First time you tell it which application to use but click on the button marked "remember this" and, it does! It can also use all netscape/mozilla plugins and also uses the netscape sidebars so loved by web designers everywhere.

One thing it doesn't do though is keep the space in a line on it's own while posting to the itrc forums which is why I use Mozilla to post to itrc and Konqueror to read everything. Annoying but true.

Ok, I'm not getting any where with this. I have tried konqueror and finally got mozilla to work at this url http://luanch.yahoo.com. But when clicking on stations to listen live, the player lauch but did not load completely. Have any one ever got any sort of webcast e.g: watching trailer and tuning to live radio station from yahoo site, particularly http://lauch.yahoo.com. Thanks.

I justtried it from Konqueror and manageed to persuade it that I wasn't running netscape 6 :)

However, All a get is a box telling me it is detecting my connection speed and nothing more.

What you should do it don't use yahoo. Try http://bbc.co.uk instead.
