      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;given the error message you quote I would guess &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/usr/bin/groff -Tlatin1 -mandoc is the problem,&lt;BR /&gt;more specifically -Tlatin1. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Try to uncompress a man-page manually and run the groff command above against it. Do you get the same error?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I do assume here that you get this error with all man pages not only the one for ls.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Greetings, Martin</description>

      <description>What's your LANG environment variable set to?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;try this:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;env LANG=C man ls&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;and see if it displays correctly.</description>
