We notice that there has not been a working driver released for the 29160/39160 SCSI cards (i.e., Ultra3 driver) for use with tape devices.
Its only two weeks into January, but contacting your HP rep or making a software support call is the way to go.

That puts pressure on someone to work on the issue.

SEP

The default drivers from RedHat AS 3 should work fine on your hardware. There is very little difference from the drivers from 2.1 to 3.0, if any..

We have 11 Compaq servers running AS 2.1 and dont use any of the Compaq drivers except for the Insight Manager agents..

If you look at the certfication matrix here http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/linux/hpLinuxcert.html you will notice that the servers have not been certified yet. All the servers are supposed to be certified first quarter of 2004. We are just waiting for the testing of all the management agents and drivers to finish.

Gunnar

I work for HP.

BTW,

The Proliant drivers for RHEL3 went live today on the ftp site. All of the support software should be pushed to the website by 02/02.

NOTE: HP requires the use of RHEL 3 update 1. We do not support RHEL 3 without update 1.

The links are as follows:

ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/linux/cpq_cciss-2.4.48-10.rhel3.i686.rpm
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/linux/hpasm-7.0.0-22.rhel3.i386.rpm
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/linux/hprsm-7.0.0-20.rhel3.i386.rpm
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/linux/e100-2.2.21c-1.src.rpm
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/linux/e1000-5.0.43c-1.src.rpm
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/linux/bcm5700-6.2.17a-1.src.rpm
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/linux/bonding-1.0.4d-1.src.rpm
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/linux/vlan-1.8.0-12.src.rpm
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/linux/ucd-snmp-4.2.5-79.rhel3.i386.rpm
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/linux/cmanic-7.0.0-4.linux.i686.rpm
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/linux/cmastor-7.0.0-16.linux.i386.rpm
