We would do the following:

A diskless proliant server with two hbas
(FCA 2214) should be able to boot from a MA8000
with securepath 3.0b enabled.

The linux distribution is SuSE SELS 8 with
service pack 2a.

We have success without Securepath.

But when securepath will be started at init
the system freezes :(

Anyone with tips or a running diskless server?

Is secure path certified with your hardware and SuSE release.

There needs to be drivers and those are OS specific. If you are off the certification Matrix, get back on and try again.

An example I'm familiar with.

Red Hat AS 2.1 is certified by HP with certain disk arrays and server combinations. That works. Take the same server and put Red Hat AS 3.0 on it and it does not work because HP doesn't have drivers that work yet on their servers.

SEP

Sorry, I should have mentioned directly that the lack of Secure Path configuration info in the doc implies that it is not supported.
