Hello,

On our new DL360 server I noticed after installing RedHat 7.3 that the OS is reporting 4 cpus rather than 2. Anyone know why this may be the case and whether there would be anything to be concerned about?

Are they prossibly dual core processors?. A dual core processor could well look like two processors to the OS.

Hi.

Mark is right it looks like you have 4 CPU's whan you in fact have two: check the dmesg command.

HTH,

Gideon

Thats a very good question. The cpu's are 3.06Ghz Xeons with the 1Mb L3cache.

There are other reported cases of this happening in back Linux threads.

Are you using the smp kernel?

SEP
