Hi,

I want to configure the RH machine to send SNMP traps to other machine.

Does anyone can tell me which configuration file I need to modify and also which process I need to start in order to send out the traps?

I only know that in HP-UX, I have to start snmpdm and change /etc/SnmpAgent.d/snmpd.conf but do not know how to do on RH because I have not familarize RH linux.

Can anyone give me a help

Thanks

Regards,
Wendy

I think this is what you want
http://www.net-snmp.org/.

I'm assuming you already have an HP management server to receive the traps...
Wendy,

check /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf
In /etc/init.d you find snmpd startup script.
You may want to use chkconfig to have snmpd started at several runlevels.

JP.
