Your system is frozen.

Can you ping the network card?

If not power it off and back on again.

Then conduct a comprehensive review of what its doing, does it have enough processors, memory and swap.

If not make changes.

Depending on the NIC, if its a network load problem you may want to get a second nic and bond/team them to improve throughput.

May I ask what kind of NIC you are using. Take a look at the Linux list. This issue has been a beastie of a problem for me.

SEP

tnks for answer SEP ,yes i think so the system is frozen .
In this situation ILO work show me the last command in console and also the ping work properly.
I ve four CPU (top show 8 for hypertradyng enabled) , 4 GB of RAM and the NIC card and drivers are the following:
tg3.c:v0.97 (Mar 13, 2002)
eth4: Tigon3 [partno(NA) rev 1002 PHY(5703)] (PCIX:100MHz:64-bit) 10/100/1000BaseT Ethernet 00:0b:cd:c5:12:d6
eth5: Tigon3 [partno(NA) rev 1002 PHY(5703)] (PCIX:100MHz:64-bit) 10/100/1000BaseT Ethernet 00:0b:cd:c5:12:d7
The kernel is 2.4.18-10.
In the last lock i red on the console the following message:
ENOMEM in do_get_write_access , retryng that on bugzilla appear only in keernel 2.4.18-5
Fabio

Hello,

I seem to remember reports of problems with 7.3 kernels on DL systems when the APIC option was activated. You might want to try to disable this during boot.

Greetings, Martin
