Hrmm, that's odd. 'nofirewire' should stop probing 'ohci1394' and similar classed modules. They are firewire.

I'm unaware of what 'ohci1394_0' could be however.

Doing a quick search however turns up this URL:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/history/79070

It states that using 'linux noauto nofirewire' should work.

I am trying to install Mandrake Linux 9.1 on my new Presario 2580US, with negative results. I have read passing variables via specific linux kernel commands, would allow the install, but that has not worked. I have tried:
linux nousb nofirewire noprobe (in assorted ways)

The install hangs on: ohci1394_0

Any suggestions on a work around?

thanks!
Ralph
