About nine months ago, I was looking up at all the itrc leaders and realized it would take a long time to both hone my skills and make a leader board.

This kind of recognition appealed to me.

Then I realized that I'd really gotten some high quality help from Stuart Browne and others with the problems of running a small business on Linux.

I'd also picked up some sysadmin skills along the way.

I also noticed I'd picked up a few Linux points. That started mostly from Linux admin posts that were later transferred from HP-UX.

Thus an idea was born. I could hone my skills and make a leader board in less time. Linux was the first place I saw my name on the top of the page. It is close to my heart. I want it to be a high quality, professional answer machine.

I hope I've helped make it that.

Thanks to Stuart for starting the thread.

Thanks Martin, Mark, aparna, Umapathy, Huc, George and U.SivaKumar for chiming in.

Jerome, I think staying ahead of you will be hard, but I've enjoyed our conversations both here and by email.

Bruno, I appreciate your earlier offer but you'll have to admit its more fun to earn the level. Your words are too kind.

I encourage you all to keep up the hard work, no matter what the makeup here is.

I am honored to enter the Linux Royal Court and look forward to meeting others in the future.

SEP
