    <description>I have configured parport1 on my redhat server machine.The following steps that i have done:&lt;BR /&gt;#vi /etc/modules.conf and added the following sintax:&lt;BR /&gt;option parport_pc io=0x378,0xbc00 irq=7,auto&lt;BR /&gt;#reboot&lt;BR /&gt;After that i have done:&lt;BR /&gt;#dmesg &amp;gt; /tmp/a&lt;BR /&gt;#grep parport /tmp/a&lt;BR /&gt;parport 0xbc00 (WARNING):CTR:wrote 0x0c,read 0x0d&lt;BR /&gt;parport 0xbc00 (WARNING): DATA:wrote 0xaa, read 0x00&lt;BR /&gt;parport 0xbc00 : Your gave this address, but there is probably no parallel port there !&lt;BR /&gt;parport1:PC-Style at 0xbc00 [PCSYP,TRISTATE,EPP]&lt;BR /&gt;ohci1394:pci_module_init failed&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Any body know why this happens ???&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks in advance ......&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>I would be interested to see if you still get these errors if you removed the options from /etc/modules completely.  You shouldn't need to specify these unless you have peculiar hardware.</description>

      <description>So lets get this straight, you've got a server, and you're adding a second LPT port.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have issues with the second address.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;By normal standards, the first LPT port is at 0x378 (yay), and the 2nd is at 0x278, and a 3rd is at 0x3bc.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Verify the address you're using for your 2nd parallel port.</description>
