    <description>Well you've got the Java processes there using quite a bit of memory, and just shy of 300MB of buffers (see the right-hand side).&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;So long as the thing isn't swapping, I don't see a problem.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;the 'RSS' value is the value you should be looking at, but as this included the amount of shared memory and such for threaded applications, the calculations can get messy.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You want to read up on 'man top' and 'man ps' about the memory columns there and how it calculates how much is actually in use.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;As it uses the numbers gathered from /proc/&lt;PID&gt;/statm in the calculations, it gets messy.  You might also want to read through some of the kernel documentation regarding the PROC filesystem.&lt;/PID&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi all. &lt;BR /&gt;I have redhat 7.1 &lt;BR /&gt;[root@web log]# uname -r &lt;BR /&gt;2.4.3-12smp box in my office &lt;BR /&gt;then.. &lt;BR /&gt;can I ask you sth.. &lt;BR /&gt;I wonder if i can find out how much memory used process current time in Real time.. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;top would display &lt;BR /&gt;some data but i post result of top that i ran &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;but total mem about 2Gb, &lt;BR /&gt;current mem used 1.95Gb &lt;BR /&gt;free 102Mb &lt;BR /&gt;cpu idles are free 100%, but &lt;BR /&gt;memory is overload.. &lt;BR /&gt;how can I pick it up the process that used most memory in real time.. &lt;BR /&gt;any good hlep or tips or advice is fine &lt;BR /&gt;thank you all</description>

      <description>run top and then press M,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;it sorts all the processes based on memory usage&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
