Has anyone successfully installed a linux distro (particularly RedHat 8.0) on the Compaq Evo N1005v? During a CD-Rom install the CD Drive becomes unavailable when selecting CD-Rom as the media location, and during a boot disk install it cannot find any hard disks (the images are on a visible FAT partition). Are there any specific paramaters i need to pass at install? I've tried loads of resource sites and this forum is my last hope....I know there are many peoplein my situation - so any help appreciated...

Paul :)

WinXP Pro and 2k Pro both went on no-probs. This is a very common problem of which i have found many posts on many forums. There has still to my knowledge never been a solution posted. Does anyone from compaq Moderate this forum? who could possibly obtain a solution?
