You might get it working if you install something like partition magic.

Two issues here.

1) Why a dot zero of RedHat. If there were any issues with XP that RedHat was aware of they were more likely to be fixed by 7.2 or 7.3

2) XP might have specifically done something to the OS to cause this problem.

I've never done the dual boot thing. With used hardware so cheap its always been easier for me to keep the OS' on different boxes.

that works for me, and I use Linux as a server os only.

Good luck.

P

Can you get to a dos prompt..than type in:
restore

this should restore you back to an earlier successful bootup.

If that fails try at the dos prompt:
scanreg /restore

this should bring you back to XP before the linux install.

You may have failed during the install to add an entry in your Linux bootloader for the WinXP partition.

What bootloader are you using? Probably LILO.

And what exactly is your harddrive configuration? Which hard drive is XP on? How many partitions on that drive and is it slave or master on which IDE controller?

This is easy to fix by adding a couple of lines to your lilo.conf file and reinstalling the boot loader.

Can you post here the following:

1.the contents of /etc/lilo.conf

2. the results of the commands

fdisk -l /dev/hda
fdisk -l /dev/hdb
fdisk -l /dev/hdc
fdisk -l /dev/hdd

-Kevin
