I was just curious as to why there is no security category for Linux. Since there are lots of questions about iptables, firewalls, etc etc, I was just thinking that people might want a security category to go to.

I totally agree. There has been an abundance of security questions posted, along with a scary number of insecure solutions to these problems. I think this would be an excellent category to add.

It would make life a lot easier if we could post security questions in there own category.
