Hi Jeffrey,

I did a make dep after make xconfig, but still the modules weren't being loaded. Also when I execute make modules and make modules_install the modules are not being copied to /lib/modules/linux. I could send the output of make modules and make modules_install if you think that could help identify the problem.

If I were you, I would try to upgrade module utilities (modutils package).
You can download them from http://rpmfind.net.

Take the one that best matches your Linux distribution.

#depmod -a
#lilo
