topic Encoding received email with sendmail in Operating System - Linux

Greetings all. I have a simple question regarding the encoding/format of received emails. My Linux box receives mails from x@domain.com where x is everything and anything. It then forwards all mails it receives to an exchange box. This works fine.

However, my question is:

Is it possible to have sendmail 'strip-out'/remove or replace the encoding of the received mail?

i.e. to remove character set instructions like charset="ks_c_5601-1987"

I'd be more than happy to explain why I need to do this, but it is not directly relevant to my question.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer,

Fergal O' Ceallaigh
Hi Fergal,

How do you 'relay' *@domain.com. When through the alias file, consider procmail(1), procmailrc(5) and formail(1).

Hth

Kasper

You might also look into metamail.

Look into sendmail with the -m option..

Later
