    <description>Yup, thanks!  That's just what I did.  At least it's still portable, but maybe not quite as convenient as the internal modem.</description>

      <description>In response to the thread: &lt;A href="http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0xce04543254bfd611abdb0090277a778c,00.html" target="_blank"&gt;http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0xce04543254bfd611abdb0090277a778c,00.html&lt;/A&gt; I could not find a way for me to reply to my own thread.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The self service manual talks about replacing RAM modules, removing the keyboard, the DVD/CDRW drive, but nothing about the modem.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you look at the attached image, you can see there are no tabs or screws to remove the modem, so I'm at a loss here.</description>

      <description>From the picture: &lt;BR /&gt;It does not look as if there is anything there. I doubt that this is a modem bay. Looking at the docs I cannot see any reference to the modem being serviceable.&lt;BR /&gt;I still think a better option is to get a pcmcia modem card.</description>
