    <description>There is a great little perl script available from:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="ftp://ftp.sgi.com/sgi/linux" target="_blank"&gt;ftp://ftp.sgi.com/sgi/linux&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;called hinv.pl which parses the output from the /proc filesystem and other sources to give you a comprehensive listing of the hardward on you system.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;-Santosh</description>

      <description>&lt;BR /&gt;For display info about installed hardware use command lsdev&lt;BR /&gt;,or procinfo -s (try man procinfo first)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If the question is scanning hardware like Plug n Play in Windows, I think every distributions have their own program, like HardDrake in Mandrake, etc.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
