    <description>You should not ftp tot he hp system as root.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;There is a security entrt in /etc/ftpuser file for root.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;A properly patches hp-ux server using wu-ftpd will deny root ftp logins.  The file above is how you override that.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You are better off using sftp secure shell from a security standpoint.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The ftp session transmists root password back and forth in clear text. Secure Shell openssh encrypts it.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>

      <description>I have a linux RH9 server. I am trying to ftp into this linux system from an HP-UX system running Network Node Manager. I cant ftp from the HPux system as root. How can I get the linux system to allow me to ftp into the box as root?</description>

      <description>You probably need to look at the /etc/ftpaccess file which by default, I think denies access to UID's under 1024 or something</description>
