      <title>RH 7.1 Linux does not perform clean shutdown</title>

      <description>Hi Everyone&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Each time I perform a shutdown via Gnome or from command root I get the following:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;general protection fault: f000&lt;BR /&gt;Code: Bad EIP Value&lt;BR /&gt;/etc/rc0.d/S01halt: line1: 1352 Segmentation fault halt -i -d -p&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Has anyone encountered the above before?&lt;BR /&gt;I'm running Linux on an HP Vectra VL Series 4 -Pentium 100 with 64 MB RAM.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;TIA&lt;BR /&gt;Pierre&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Im not sure what is happening here. Which command is it that is faulting?  Does this happen when you type &lt;BR /&gt;# init 0 &lt;BR /&gt;or &lt;BR /&gt;# reboot    ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>When I choose reboot from Gnome this does not happen. When I select Halt from Gnome the error message comes up. This also happens when performing a shutdown -r now&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Pierre</description>
