Major Mandrake Installation Problem on the Pavilion 8770C

Hi everyone. I finally took the step forward and went to install linux.

When I get started and push enter at the main screen, it will find the install disc and then I get a ramdisk error. After I push enter to continue i get some sort of exec error in stage2 and then an error in stage1: Accessing corrupted shared files

Nothing is corrupted on the CD so I need to get past this because I have no clue as to what is wrong.

Please help me ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Give a try to memtest86 (http://reality.sgi.com/cbrady_denver/memtest86/) to check if your main memory does have any problem.
