topic Specifications for Vectra 486/25 VL in Operating System - Linux

Being an environmental specialist I do not want to through away my perfectly
good and reliable Vectra pc.
So I thought that I would use it as a linux machine. Unfortunately I have lost
the manuals and I do not know the specification of the 14" SVGA monitor or the
video chipset and memory used in this model. The model was purchased in January
1993 in the UK.
I guessed at the settings and Linux installed fine but it seems to be having
having problems running XFree86 - I did expect it to be slow but not that it
would not run.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Hello George,

I'll include the link for you below to the Vectra 486 VL Specifications. The
specs for the video are at this page.

If you have other models you need to check, just go to the main HP webpage,
www.hp.com, click on Drivers, then follow the pull-downs to your product. It
will take you to a page where you can download the latest drivers and also
access technical documents, such as specs, faq's, etc.

I hope that's what you were looking for.

Best regards,
Jamie Hughes
