I suppose stranger things have happened, but I can't imagine HP porting ServiceGuard to Linux. This product is a major sales item for HP. HP is working toward supporting Linux software on HP hardware. I don't know of any initiative to move HP unix based software toward Linux. There are some obvious exceptions with some OpenView products, but these are generally supported on other hardware already. Why would HP elect to reduce its hardware sales? And the idea of making ServiceGuard open source is even less likely.

As part of HP's multi-OS strategy, MC/ServiceGuard will be available and<BR />supported on Linux in early 2001.
