Good luck getting on though -- ftp.redhat.com is *really* busy. Try some of the mirror sites: http://www.redhat.com/download/mirror.html

Alot of those mirror sites might only carry RedHat's latest distro (9 and/or Fedora) so you might have to look around.

When i try to download from the above site it is asking for the user name & pwd.

How to go about in downloading the same?

Which site? ftp.redhat.com or one of the mirrors? In any case you should be able to use 'anonymous' as the username and your e-mail address as the password.
