    <description>I've done plenty of SLES10.2 and OpenSuSE10.2 installs with a variety of NICs, including realteks.  Never had a problem with the drivers, but what always seems to get me is that I leave the stupid firewall turned on with its default settings.  That usually blocks my ping and ssh until I make adjustments.</description>

      <description>i have installed linux suse 10.2 operating system&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;on hp machine ,model no is hp Compaq dx 2480 microtower base unit pc and product no - KL969AV&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;my network is not pinging on this machine. same thing i did on another hp machine , model no dx2280, product no. is GR541AV. it was working fine.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i have checked the network driver on both machine. driver is bydefalut successfully installed. i have check default gateway. but facing same issue.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;please help me&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Need some basic trouble shooting info...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;post ifconfig and route from both servers &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;if no IP stack then you need to start there..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;will start here first and then move up the stack.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Shalom,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Low end Compaq/hp pc's have on Linux support on their built in NIC cards.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;That is right on the site for the system.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;To get Linux networking right, you either need to find a hacked driver and hope, "hack and pray", or buy a nice Intel PCI NIC for $20 and use that.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>

      <description>thanks for your help.  &lt;BR /&gt;another thing i find it out that New HP Machine (Core 2 Duo) Come with Realtak semiconductor RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet driver and OLD HP Machine has Realtak semiconductor RTL-8110SC/8169 SC gigabit Ethernet driver.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i have checked the ethernet module  by using lsmod command then its show r8169 drivers and pc comes with r8168 driver.   same thing i find on kernel its show r8169.ko file. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i think its drivers compatibility issue.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;please suggest me solution&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
