ypserver = a NIS server process.

Install the NIS server package from your Linux distribution and you have it.

Do you mean the DNS domain name, the NIS domain name or something else?

"man hostname" will describe various ways to query the host name and things related to it: the DNS domain name and the NIS domain name.

Other software packages can define their own "domains" and use names for them. For example, Samba requires/defines the name of a Windows workgroup or domain it associates with. This can be completely unrelated to the DNS and NIS domain names.
