      <description>Do you mean the DNS domain name, the NIS domain name or something else?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;"man hostname" will describe various ways to query the host name and things related to it: the DNS domain name and the NIS domain name.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Other software packages can define their own "domains" and use names for them. For example, Samba requires/defines the name of a Windows workgroup or domain it associates with. This can be completely unrelated to the DNS and NIS domain names.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;MK</description>
