      <description>Shalom,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Most of these boxes are Linux.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The supported OS' are windows and Mac OS. That means btw that Linux can use it if the samba client is installed.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;There are linux distributions designed to specifically support this type of box.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;This one appears to be windows based due to its lack of NFS support.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have a similar device in my home from Buffalo. It is Linux based and does support NFS shares.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;My answer is based on deduction and experience. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>thanks Steven,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I ordered this box.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;OS is linux:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;storage&amp;gt; uname -a&lt;BR /&gt;Linux storage 2.4.22-uc0 #458 Tue Apr 3 01:09:49 CST 2007 ppc unknown&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;but it doesn't support ssh and nfs by default.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;after some hacks I've gotten ssh and nfs running on this box.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;greetings&lt;BR /&gt;chris&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
