topic arping in Operating System - Linux

arping doesnt work for me.

im using the following command

#arping -A -c 3 -I eth0 -s

Sent 3 probes (3 broadcast(s))
Received 0 response(s)

what do i need to check on source and destination systems?

check like this

#arping -I eth0 -c 2

if you want to check duplicate address detection

#arping -D -q -I eth0 -c 2
# echo $?
1

Are you pinging a node on the same subnet? ARP in non-routable. That could be your issue.
