      <description>I had face same problem that I want to connect Internet and email at outlook express through the  squid proxy, the internet working well but the email cannot be connected and get the same error, I'm still find for the solution</description>

      <description>Squid is NOT a proxy for protocols like POP (email), IMAP, SSH, TELNET and so...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What you want won't work at all if you want to access via POP. You should use IP masquerading.</description>

      <description>what you mean by IP masquarding? actually the main thing that I try to do is to force user using the internet trough the proxy and so on the email,I do not want to put dns to the user. It is there any alternative way that I can use in this situation?</description>
