How to "migrate" Automatic Port Aggregation to Linux?

Hello colleagues,
we're currently using HP APA on Hp-UX 11i.
Since we're migrating the SW/HW platform to Linux / HP ProLiant servers, we should migrate the LAN card redundancy too.
Does it exist a product for Linux similar to HP APA, i.e. providing the "Automatic Port Aggregation"?

I think you would need to look at using teh Linux Bonding technique, in active/active mode
You take two LAN's (say eth0 and eth1) and create a bond called bond0

You can get "Port aggregation" on linux using bonding.
The module comes with distribution, some configuration is required.
You didn't mention the distribution you use so I assumed it's redhat. Here's a link

The mode=1 is for active-backup configuration.For port aggragation it should be mode=4.

Which packet scheduling algorithm are you using with APA? That will help you decide with of the linux bonding modes would be the closest match.

Shalom,

Linux bonding will save you some money because its built into the base OS.

Costs you nothing but time and is easier to configure.
