Hello,

At the customer site, the following error has appeared at error log.
[Fri Oct 06 17:37:59 2006] [error] (88)Socket operation on non-socket: apr_accept: (client socket)

[ENVIRONMENT]
RHEL AS3 update6
httpd-2.0.46-54.ent-i386

[SITUATION]
While appearing above message, there is not entry at access log file, and anybody could not access
to the web server.

[QUESTION]
- What does the message mean ?
- Why does the message appear ? Could you tell me the mechanism in detail ?

Shalom,

I've seen this message on many platforms for years. I do not belivve there is a security issue or any real meaning.

It is probably a software bug where apache is doing something that networking does not permit.

If the messages appear due to bug, I would like to know the evidence to report the customer.
Is there any bug report or patch information ?
